As soon as possible to Twente

Twente is located in the east of the Netherlands, in the province of Overijssel. So all you have to do is follow highway A1 eastward, and you will automatically arrive in Twente.

By Car

Whether you travel from the north, south, west or neighboring Germany. By highway, Twente is easy to reach.

From the west

The A1 runs straight through Twente, towards Germany. Should you encounter exit Oldenzaal, don't forget to turn off. This is the last exit before entering neighboring Germany.

From the north

Just after Hoogenveen, the A28 turns into the N48. From here it is a few kilometers before you reach the border of Twente. Tip: Going to the eastern part of Twente? Cross the border in Coevorden and take the 403 towards the south.

From the south

From the A12 take the A50 towards Apeldoorn. From Apeldoorn switch to the A1 towards Deventer. The A1 runs straight through Twente.

From the east

Are you driving via Germany? From the north you can cross the border at Nordhorn, but Getelo and Halle can also save you considerable time. The E30 enters the Netherlands and then runs straight through Twente. The 31 runs parallel to the Netherlands. Take the exit at Ahaus or Gronau (Westphalia) to enter Twente via the A35. (These are roads 474, 70 and 54).

Note: If your route passes through Germany, it is mandatory to bring your passport or identity card. A driver's license is not sufficient to identify yourself here.

Public transportation

From all over the Netherlands you can enter Twente in different ways. With train stations in Rijssen, Wierden, Almelo, Borne, Hengelo, Enschede and Oldenzaal, the train is a very good option to travel to Twente.
